Annual Ramsayville Cemetery Service tradition lives on despite the recent storm!

The Ramsayville Cemetery Committee is pleased to announce that we will continue the tradition

of the Annual Ramsayville Cemetery Service again this year on Sunday, June 12, 2022 at 11:15AM. While the recent storm brought down a significant number of large trees in the Cemetery, after a huge community effort for three days, the Cemetery has been restored to its pristine form! Many thanks to all the Community members that helped out including Arden Brown, Rick Shaw, Bill Stewart, George Acs and the Purple Cow Team, Howard Anderson, Grant Anderson, Murray Toll, and Brady Toll, of Toll Small Engines for loaning us his backhoe. We are pleased to say that while a few gravestones were moved, no permanent damage was down and we have done our best to return the gravestones to their original location.

We are honoured that Pastor Wilf Wight will again be hosting the Service in the Ramsayville Cemetery itself. In person attendance will be allowed this year and we will be hosting a small luncheon/gathering following the service in the Cemetery. We will again be broadcasting the service Live on Facebook as well. We are also pleased to announce Jill Richings who voluntarily started cleaning our older gravestones last fall and the Amy-Lynn Howson (Ottawa’s “Singing Nurse”) will be joining us for the Service as well. Amy-Lynn will even be signing the song she recorded in our Cemetery “You Are Not Alone!”

As you are probably aware, this is a key fundraising event for the Cemetery. It enables us to maintain the Cemetery up to the standards that would continue to make our elders proud.

To that end, an online donation button has been added to our Facebook page and the Live Broadcast if you are able to help out the Cemetery this year. If you are not a Facebook user

but would like to make a donation, the donation options are as follows:

1. E-transfer via our email, RamsayvilleCemetery@gmail.com

2. Mail or drop off a cheque payable to Ramsayville Cemetery, c/o Lynn Roy (Treasurer),

253 Keltie Private, Ottawa, ON K2J 0A2

Please feel free to follow us on Facebook at @RamsayvilleCemetery where we will provide updates as the date approaches.

Thanks in advance for your continued support!
