The Tree for Tree Project has arranged a meet up with Dr. Owen Clarkin from the Ottawa-Field Naturalist Club to learn about our incredible local forests!

Sand Road west of Vars, approximately here ( 45.34886, -75.38778 ):

This trip will be a general ramble with a botany focus, at the expansive and biodiverse habitat of Cumberland Forest west of Vars. We will attempt to make it to an interesting central boggy area if the water is not too high. This forest has extensive swampy areas and a limited trail system, so wear rubber boots and dress for the weather.

This trip is a joint excursion for the ONFC and the Carlsbad Springs Community Association as part of the Tree for Tree Project. This is a rain or shine event.
